God's Humor

God listens. Not only that, He just wants to hang out with us and talk, listen, be. He wants us to listen and hear too.

Yesterday, I told God He was fun and funny. I think so!

As i prayed that, I asked Him to show me His funniness today. He did!

At work in the tasting room, this stranger will never know she was the answer to my prayer, but in my heart I was laughing much deeper than she could have known or perceived. She was definitely from Jesus! Her and her two friends were young like us (Autumn, me and Jason) and fun, friendly, full of LIFE and LAUGHTER. They talked openly and made jokes, and it made my day. I couldn't help but join in and talk too. One of the girls said, "What do you think Jesus thinks about this [the wine tasting]? He says, 'Do not get drunk on wine...' " Her friend said, "Yeah, but it's not like we're living that way and getting drunk everyday."

Before I could even reflect on what I was doing, I jumped in the middle of everyone and heard myself say, "I know what you mean, but you look in the Bible and there are so many times that that's what they were doing-- Jesus would eat and break bread and be drinking wine with His friends. He turned water into wine. You know, the effects of wine just makes people relaxed and mellow! He said drink wine and remember it's my blood shed for you."
One of the girls chimes in, "Yeah, they drank wine and it's not like they were drinking it because they were thirsty!"
haha.

And then this conversation progressed to one of the girls saying she had questions for our Heavenly Father... naming one of them that was just stated with such good humor and joy. I loved it, and God mixed His Spirit with loving laughter, humor, and joy for me yesterday, including whoever else it touched.

I remembered my request to Him at some point, and felt blessed at His personal life in mine, and warmed. He likes His children! He takes personal interest in us.

What happened later is hilarious to me.

I went home after work to make some cupcakes with some leftover batter I had made the night before. It needed more vanilla, so as I took a teaspoon and poured it in, I looked down and saw a perfect happy face-- eyes, nose and mouth!

lol

I took the bowl into the living room and showed my mom and stepdad. It was hilarious and humorous to me. haha
God listens more than we can possibly understand.

The Great Outdoors!

The reason for this montage of photos is the underlying theme of the natural lighting and beauty of my friends and the outdoor scenes!

Revelation Today

Today I was thinking and experiencing, talking and listening through this day with loved ones, and I saw how amazingly important it is for us all to remember to give love.

I was reminded how important it is to remember to tell people how much we care about them, and how important they are to this world and to those of us around them.

It's up to us to show the specialness of people in our lives. It's in our hands and stewardship as friends to pass on manifestation of love so others can be encouraged.

I remembered that we all have an effect on people. We can tell people how much we love them, and it means something.

Sometimes it can mean more than we anticipate... because for me, sometimes it makes it easier not to say something, not to make the effort, time or step to be present when I close my eyes to the power it holds, and my capability and responsibility to grasp those around me with care. With shown thought. We have the opportunity to make contact that helps one another every day. It's the everyday presence and little things that can mean so much to us, isn't it?

We are social beings, and I believe we are meant to hear from one another. I believe we're meant to somewhat find life in compassion, love and words. I believe there's a part of us that needs it and thrives off of it. Not in an unhealthy, codependent kind of way. But talking to people and loving others in a day-to-day way can help us to be so much more healthy and whole people.
May we be there for on another.
I have not... I see reasons why it's so important and necessary. We are meant to love one another. And it helps so much. Love isn't just meant for me to receive! it's meant for me to give. It's meant for my family, my friends, and strangers to receive, without reason or reward. Just because.
What a tough, selfless walk.
That's why I fail.
But I want to try more.

I love you friends.

More Fun

I've had another roll that I started the same day I began my other experimenting pictures! I have been so excited to keep practicing and to finish the roll...

This is on 246 in wine country Santa Ynez, Buellton, Los Olivos.
I pulled over on the way home, and poor Amy graciously waited in the car for me :)

We had a fun time tasing in Los Olivos!
See the cute poppies on the glasses?

I've been slightly into this vintage look!

Outside of one of the smallest tasting rooms ever.

Amy's earings match the roses! How fun!

Portrait time at a vinyard!

I was just passing by in my neighborhood, and I quickly pulled over
for the love of sprinklers and a cool water shot! hehe...

... and of course it needs to flow somewhere!

Magnolia in my neighborhood.

A fun garden windmill by my home.

I tried this on a slow shutter speed on a tripod.
I wanted to try to capture the effect of shadows moving.
It didn't work out that great... but I tried to edit it to look whimsicle!
