Friends, Life

It was Amy's birthday yesterday. We enjoyed ourselves in San Luis Obispo. It was a relaxing, casual day with her ladies. Delicious lunch outside on a patio and a peruse down Higuera until we found ourselves enjoying cupcakes by the mission.

Eventually we ended up on the patio of a tiki restaurant, listening to live regae on a sunny Sunday afternoon after the weekend's unforcasted thunder, lightning and rain storm. How ironic and enjoyable.

Later, we ventured to Lizzy's family's house, many of her friends' home away from home, including me. We ate Coney burgers with cheese and drank champagne of course. With strawberries. :p

As the sun set, I captured a few snapshots.

Reese after her bedtime nap. So picture-ready!

Lizzy's turn to roast us some mallows. Sometimes they fall in! Woops! They were scrumptious with Nutella.

Toasted just right, aye!

Poorly cut negatives, but beautiful ladies!

Haha, Happy Birthday, Amy!

Love.

Full sun, full moon.

It was a still night, a gloriously still and warm evening on the beach. I enjoyed the warmth of the sun's last rays in the ocean. Walking, I felt peace, and the necessity to be still.

Driving away from Willy's for my chicken tacos dinner, I looked at the pink of the sky to the west, and saw the big fat round sun bright pinkish red. I raced time to watch it go down, but saw it from my car.

The moon struck my awe again when I saw it as I drove away from the beach once again. It was bright yellow. And full. Nearly perfectly round just as the sun had been, set in a clear and still night's sky.

Ever had a night such as this?

My photos don't do it justice, not even a bit.

Life Abundant

Inspiration rekindled
love spurred on
a cheerful note
to keep the sun
Enjoy the fruit
of wisdom hung
from friends whose gift
is laugh and fun
It peeks from heart
on face and mouth
dimples adorned
on cheeks and grin
Brighten my day
Son of Man
I'll take you with me
You've promised this
